Here is what is going on this week:

In Reading we are reading "Teachers Pet"
we will work on comprehension and vocabulary

In writing we are working on personal narratives and working in our treasure book

In Social studies we are working on the famous citizens of America and also we will start on Map skills.

PLEASE REMEMBER THIS WEEK ON THURSDAY SPELLING NOTEBOOK IS DUE AND ABC WE WILL HAVE A TEST ON 12 RANDOMLY SELECTED WORDS

This week in Reading we will read and study comprehension , and cause and effect of the story Diary of a Spider.

In ELA we will be working on personal narratives. We will write about our favorite birthday!!!

In Social Studies we will study famous people like Paul Revere, The WASPS, the Navajo Code Talkers and a few more.

GOOD MORNING and Welcome to Ms. Buell's blog.

This is how my blog works: attatched will be our weekly work , important dates this week and upcoming events. Attached is the Spelling words. The children will bring home a spiral spelling notebook that they will do their spelling in. This will be due every Thursday, if not turned in they will have homework detention. Also is the read Naturally letter, you will also get a copy explaining how this works, along with the story, this weeks story is Basketball. I am also attaching the letter for Texas readers, A copy will also be in your childs daily folder today.

This week in Social Studies we will be studying about rules and groups in our communites, also some community leaders.

In Reading we will be reading Henry and mudge and the Yellow Moon. Along with that we will be working on vocabulary and comprehension skills.
In Writing we will begin a writing passage on our favorite day. I will model by writing my favorite birthday.
We will begin writing in our handwriting book also.
Our out-class schedule is as follows M-Music, T-Library or computer W-PE wear tennis shoes that day, TH-Art Friday rotates.

This week in Social Studies we are reading about stories from Japan. Our book this week is A Carp For Kamiko.
In reading we will be reading about experiences of Japan. Last week re read about How my Parents Learned to eat.

In Writing we will be editing and making good sentences and writing an expository story by he end of the week.

Tuesday is check out day, our last book report will be due next Thursday April 25 on the fiction book we check out this Tuesday.

Our Read Naturally story this week is Killer Bees, This is due on Friday.

This week in Reading, we will be reading The Dog that dug up the Dinosaurs. We will also have guided reading groups. No read naturally this week, but read, read, read and retell your stories.

Wow what a wonderful week to be a Scottie

This week we are studying Abraham Lincoln.  There is no Read Naturally this week.

The History book report is due THURSDAY!!!!

TUESDAY IS PICTURE DAY (THAT IS TOMORROW)!!!

Wednesday is the FUN RUN--Thank you so..... much for your pledges.  We are so excited so Mr. Rocha and I are buying sunglasses for all who donated,to wear on WEDNESDAY!!! WEAR YOUR GREEN FIELD DAY SHIRTS FROM LAST YEAR OR JUST A GREEN SHIRT ON WEDNESDAY!!! Come and watch us run, we start at 8:30!!!
